The DC 37 Education Department offers a
variety of interesting programs on Saturdays for members, their spouses and children,
and retirees of DC 37. All classes meet for 10 weeks and there is a fee for each
individual program. These fees do not include equipment, such as a guitar or a
camera, etc.
Registration for these classes
takes place three times a year. Watch for the announcements in the Public Employee
Press regarding registration.
The following are the classes offered:
- Crochet
Learn the basics
of crochet from the foundation up, including basic pattern reading (words and
symbols), and projects for beginner/intermediate crocheters. No experience necessary.
Open to ages 12 to adult.

Guitar
Guitar classes include basic technique, fundamentals of melody, harmony and rhythm
for guitarists. Beginner and intermediate classes offered. Open to ages 8 to adult.

Photography
Learn the new technology of digital photography and 35 mm camera technique. Create
your own Web site, scanning and retouching of your photos, e-mailing of your images
and much more. Open to ages 15 to adult.

Tai
Chi
A gentle exercise used for relaxation, stress reduction, internal
strength and as a martial art. Explore the healing benefits of Tai Chi in this
introduction to Yang style Tai Chi. Beginner and Intermediate classes offered.
Open to ages 18 to adult.

Yoga
Master the basics of achieving balance in your life through the discipline of
Yoga. Classes are specifically tailored for relaxation, toning and increased flexibility.
Open to beginners, ages 16 to adult.
