The DC 37 Italian Heritage Committee will celebrate its 13th anniversary with an opening night ceremony at union headquarters on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 5 p.m. The annual dinner dance will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Russo’s on the Bay. For more information, please contact your local or division.

The DC 37 Latino Heritage Committee will conclude its celebration of Latino Heritage Month with a finale on Friday, Oct. 10. For more information, look for flyers in the lobby or check the union events calendar at www.dc37.net.

On Tuesday, Oct. 14, the DC 37 Health and Nutrition Committee will have an exercise session at 6 p.m. at the union in preparation for the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides” walk. The walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. in Central Park. DC 37 walkers will meet at 68th Street and 5th Avenue at 9 a.m. for a photo and stretch. The DC 37 Education Fund Authors Talk Committee invites you to a talk on the new book, “Sisters in the Brotherhoods — Working Women Organizing for Equality in New York City,” by Public Employee Press Associate Editor Jane LaTour, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m., at union headquarters.
