Myrna E. Santiago: new at Political Action

Myrna E. Santiago is the new associate director of the DC 37 Political Action and Legislation Dept.

She will manage the department’s day-to-day operations and staff under Political Director Wanda Williams.

Santiago brings to the union 30 years of experience as a manager in government services for the state and city of New York. The deputy comptroller under former State Comptroller Alan Hevesi, Santiago was responsible for Intergovernmental Affairs and Community Relations. She also served as an assistant vice president of the city's Public Development Corp., and a manager in the city’s Economic Policy and Marketing Group in the Dinkins and Giuliani administrations. For 12 years, she worked in the city Dept. of Employment under Mayor Ed Koch.

Santiago is married with two children and four grandchildren.

“I am excited to be at DC 37 with its activist members and tremendous political power,” she said.
