Parks Department honors Mike Zeno

The Parks and Recreation Dept. honored Uniformed Park Supervisors Local 1508 President Mike Zeno as Employee of the Month earlier this year. A Park Supervisor since 1989, Zeno was recognized for his hard work and dedication.

With a crew of workers represented by four DC 37 locals, Zeno reorganized the Queens Maintenance and Operation Storehouse. He runs the facility, which also outfits and trains new crews of Jobs Training Program participants. Zeno convinced the city to create an in-house repair shop that saves the city thousands of dollars annually in repair costs.

“I am very proud to receive this award,” said Zeno. “It makes me see that after all these years, I am still on top of my game.” Queens operations chief Jackie Langsam nominated Zeno for the honor.
