DC 37 contributes thousands of dollars to Bangladeshi victims of cyclone Sidr

In a display of solidarity with the victims of last November’s deadly cyclone in Bangladesh, DC 37 Treasurer and Bangladeshi national, Maf Misbah Uddin (left), with Executive Director Lillian Roberts (right) presented a check for $17,450 to the Bangladeshi Ambassador to the United States, M. Humayun Kabir (center) as the Bangladeshi Consul General (left of Roberts) observes. The money will go for disaster relief for the survivors of the November, 2007 storm which left over 3,000 dead and close to 20,000 people homeless.

DC 37 is the city's largest public employee union with 125,000 members and 50,000 retirees.
