Health screening for prevention
A few hundred members and visitors attended a health fair sponsored by Electronic Data Processing Employees Local 2627 at union headquarters on April 31.
The screening checked for heart disease, high cholesterol, asthma, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
A test on one man showed his arteries have an excess of plaque. One person tested positive for high blood pressure. The third discovered she has asthma.
“It’s all about prevention,” Local 2627 President Robert Ajaye said.
Public advocate Letitia James took advantage of the screening as she was visiting the union that day.
