Statement on restoration of funding for Job Training Participant Program
NEW YORK— District Council 37 issues the following statement in response to Mayor Eric Adams’s announcement of permanently restored funding for the Job Training Participant (JTP) program in the City’s Department of Parks & Recreation and Department of Social Services.
“We thank Mayor Adams for restoring our Job Training Participant program and commend him for doing right by the 3,000 New Yorkers who rely on the stable career opportunities and vital benefits these positions provide. This decision is a positive step in a budget cycle that’s presented immense challenges for our members and the Administration, and we look forward to collaborating on additional solutions.” – Henry Garrido, Executive Director of District Council 37.
